Frequently Asked Questions
What is involved in an electrical inspection for a home in Kissimmee?
Our electrical inspection is a thorough evaluation of your home's wiring, outlets, panels, and safety systems. We check for outdated components, proper grounding, and any signs of wear or damage that could pose a risk. Given the local climate, we pay special attention to connections that may be vulnerable to corrosion or past storm damage, providing you with a clear, prioritized report and recommendations to ensure your system is safe and up to current standards.
How does Mykeway Electric handle electrical damage from storms or hurricanes common in our area?
Living in Kissimmee, we understand the impact of severe weather. We specialize in assessing and repairing hurricane-related electrical damage, such as water intrusion, fallen branch impacts, and power surge issues. We also frequently address corrosion on electrical meters and panels caused by our humid climate. Our process involves a complete safety evaluation, repairing or replacing damaged components, and ensuring all connections are secure and protected to help safeguard your home against future weather events.
With your experience on large projects, are you equipped for smaller residential electrical jobs?
Absolutely. While our background includes large-scale projects like schools and hospitals, that experience directly translates to higher standards for every job, no matter the size. For residential work, it means we have a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of electrical codes, and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently. You benefit from the same level of professionalism and expertise we've applied for over 40 years, ensuring your smaller project is done correctly and reliably.
Company Overview
I'm Myke, the owner of Mykeway Electric in Kissimmee. My career in the building industry began over 40 years ago, working for a national restaurant construction company, General Dynamics, and in civil service as a Utility Lineman. This diverse background gave me a deep understanding of electrical systems from the ground up. In 1988, I became a licensed building contractor and opened my own company. Since then, my team has handled electrical work for a wide range of projects across Central Florida, including schools, hospitals, prisons, tract homes, and custom residences, as well as commercial and industrial facilities.
