He quickly moved from apprentice to foreman by age 21, later becoming a General Foreman and Project Manager on major Indy-area projects. In 2010, he moved into leadership roles as Vice President and Estimator. Using all that experience, he and Kellie started 21 Electric.

The name has a special meaning. It honors their son, Brody, who has Down Syndrome. Individuals with Down Syndrome have three copies of the 21st chromosome. The three arrows in the 21 Electric logo represent those copies, and the 21 refers to the chromosome. Their mission is to financially support Down Syndrome of Indiana and raise awareness about abilities. They are also involved with the Tim Tebow Foundation.
